Benita worked as a Registered Nurse for 15 years. During this time she worked in a large hospital caring for surgical and medical patients in chronic and acute care settings. Following this, she took a job as an office nurse for a large cardiovascular / thoracic surgeons group. Many of her co-workers suggested that she had a natural talent in massage and urged her to get training in that field.
She chose S.H.I. Integrative Medical Massage and Acupuncture School, in Lebanon Ohio, for her massage training, graduating in 1997. She passed the Ohio State Medical boards & also the National Certification boards.
Benita practiced solo for about two years, but began to feel that she could serve the community better by establishing a group practice. In August of 1999 Springboro Therapeutic Massage was formed. As the owner of the business, the practice has continued to grow, becoming known in the community and surrounding areas.
Benita is a committed Christian, including this spiritual value system into her work ethics as well. Many times she prays with her client before beginning the session, asking God to use her gift to meet the needs of the person she is massaging. She has worked with both young and old to bring the healing touch of massage into their lives. She has seen a difference in what it can do.
Her training is in Swedish Massage. Added training includes: CranioSacral Therapy, Reflexology, Myofascial Release and she has also been a Trager and Mentastics practitioner.
